Roseland Icebox Company

We specialize in the construction of reproduction quality antique wooden iceboxes with completely modern electrical refrigeration components.  We build various models in two different types.  All models and types are available with finished wood paneling on front, sides, top and back and so can be placed anywhere and viewed from all sides.  Details on what we can offer you can be found by clicking the links below.

The Two Model Types We Offer

The first type we offer is called the "Sears Style" and has the interior of a quality, top-mount, name brand refrigerator fitted into a solid wood exterior cabinet that is modeled after a 1900's era Sears and Roebuck icebox.  The exterior appears to be in every detail an authentic icebox, right down to the bronze hardware.  But when the door is opened you see the interior of a modern top-mount with all it's conveniences such as gallon door storage.

The second type is called the "McCray Style" and is modeled after a  1900's era McCray brand icebox and is authentic in appearance, both inside and outside.  These iceboxes are available in models with two to eight or even more doors.  The doors may be arranged symmetrically or asymmetrically and may be paneled with either thermal glass or solid wood.  The interior may be either wood paneling, white opaque Plexiglas, ceramic tile, granite or marble.  Shelving is adjustable and made of latticed wood.  These are truly beautiful and unique boxes, both inside and out.

Custom McCray models can be built to any specification, size and style required.  All models are available your choice of wood and stain.  There are many unique features and options that are not mentioned above, such as automatic ice makers, a through the cabinet bronze ice water spigot, and the option to have the compressor located remotely.  You may see a List of Available Options with pricing through this link.

Ice Box Hardware for your Refrigerator Panels/Fronts or Cabinetry:    We can provide you with complete sets of icebox hardware for your Sub-Zero front or for your kitchen cabinetry.  All hardware can be made fully functional or fixed/non-functional. We offer new hardware cast in silicon bronze in our in-house foundry or from time to time we may even be able to provide you with complete sets of actual antique hardware.  Contact us for more details about what is currently available.

Ice Box Panels/Fronts for your Sub-Zero, Viking, GE Monogram or other make refrigerator: We can also provide the icebox panels to put on your refrigerator. Have a look and see what we can do for you.

Please note that we are in start-up.  We will not have a professionally printed brochure until we have delivered our fifth or sixth contract.  While we are in start-up we are offering our iceboxes to the general public at the wholesale price.  So if you want to save significantly on the price of a unit, now is the time. We will continue to offer the wholesale pricing only until we have completed the first unit.  Since we don't want to advertise our wholesale prices you will need to contact us to obtain them.

While we do not yet have photos of our iceboxes available we do have quite a few images of actual antique iceboxes for you to look at which should help give you ideas of what we can do for you.  Some of these may be seen in our Image Directory (This page may take some time to load as it contains many images).  If you would like to see more just email us at the address below and let us know what you are looking for and we will send more images to you.  We can build a box for you just like any one of these antiques or according to almost any specification you may desire.
